May 1, 2009 -- A Decade of Gay Porn Is Subject of Group Blog: In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, 13 top adult industry journalists and bloggers are preparing to launch a group blog that will discuss, dish and celebrate the past decade (2000-2009) in gay porn. The idea for a group blog sprang up during a lunchtime chat between journalists J.C. Adams and Onan the Vulgarian, when Onan mentioned that he wanted to update his 1998 list of the all-time best gay porn films. "We're coming to the end of a decade, believe it or not," said Adams. "As a group, we felt it was important to look back at the past ten years in gay adult and commemorate the highlights -- and low-lights! The adult industry is undergoing a period of retrenchment right now, and at times like these it's useful to examine the past as we try to scry the future." "Because it's 'only porn,' too much of this critical component of gay history is lost," Onan added. "This blogging project will help to provide a cultural and erotic perspective on where we were and whence we've come in the past ten years, written by the people who have been paying the most attention." -- J.C. Adams and Onan the Vulgarian
